I think I have a pair of those tickets too.

We will head to my step-son's, but will no doubt be in bed by the new year. Woo- hoo, don't get older.

We usually celebrated the ball drop in New York City and then off to bed.
I may wear my good sweat suit for the evenings festivities.

I have season tickets to “stay home and do nothing”.

My wife discovered a sparking wine she likes (she’s pretty much a non drinker) so we picked up a bottle for her. I have some odds and ends of beers in the fridge and I’m thinking of either doing a fridge clean up or enjoying some of the Bullit bourbon I have.

Nice think about living in the Pacific time zone is we can watch the ball drop in New York and be in be by 9:00 pm. Like I said….season tickets.

A bunch of us are getting together and playing cards. My famous chili is cooking.

We watched the ball drop and then finished our drinks and now we're off to bed.
At 84 that's all there is to it.

Quarter of twelve here. Quit watching the ball drop years ago. Miss T is a Farm Wife and "up with the chickens" means just that. For years she had to gather the eggs, milk the cows, and do the rest of her farm chores. Try and sleep in, things get noisy. Lol. She goes to bed early most nights, even though we got rid of the large animals, early to rise is a hard habit to break.

I worked evenings/midnights for years. I'm up late.

We don't go out on holidays unless we have to.

I made it to 11:15. There was about 30 people at Church last night playing cards at 6 pm. When I left there was only half that many and four left with me.

New Year’s Eve and January 1st are on the list of celebrations that I don’t understand. When I was much younger staying up to count down to midnight was an excuse for a party. The only significant change for the new year is getting adjusted to writing the date with the correct numbers.
The only reason we are aware that midnight has rolled around is when we hear the neighbors fireworks.

I was awake to see in the new year but in our area it proved to be pretty much of a nonevent .... a few fireworks, the least I ever remember .... we do have a beautiful first morning with a cloudless, Carolina Blue sky

We lasted until 9:00 pm (my wife fell asleep in her recliner before 9). But she was up at 4:30 and I was up at 6:00. No sense burning daylight as John Wayne used to say. Oh wait, it doesn’t get light until 7:30

Made it to 12 and in bed by 12:10. Most noise ended shortly after. Some in the distance until 2am-ish.
