Last Friday a body was found just off WI-13 and US8. Around here it’s a rare event. Not much is being released and that’s about all I know.

We're used to seeing all crimes being solved within an hour on TV. Not so likely in real life.

WAY back when I was still involved with my major department as a dispatcher, before moving to a smaller unit to work patrol, they had a big problem in a certain section with homicides. It was about a mile long strip along the railroad tracks that was the boundary for the city and the county.
Seems the bad guys were getting smart. Kill in the city, dump them a couple blocks in the county. Kill in the county, dump them a block or two in the city. Then you take away the investigator's network of connections. The departments got smart and created a joint task force, with investigators working together, to determine whose case it actually was, then that department took jurisdiction. This took away the advantage of the risk to move the bodies, so the bad guys went back to mostly leaving them where they fell.

This homicide is barely in the news.
