Getting Ready To Move

We put our house on the market Tuesday, got an offer on Saturday and we accepted it today. We will be moving into a 2 bedroom apartment in a very nice retirement complex here in Sequim. I hate to leave the house but my wife and I just can no longer maintain it plus I have been doing all of the cooking for the past 3 years and I am tired of it. It's going to be nice to walk into the dining room and eat someone else's cooking.

Good luck to you both, Whaler. Changes like that aren't easy, but often badly needed. It sounds like you made the right decision. Congratulations on pulling that trigger. And, I certainly look forward to more of your beautiful photos.

Best of everything in your transition, Whaler. My wife and I have made that change already; had to happen for us, and we're well-settled into retirement years now. Whenever you mention Sequim, my memories of our Washington State vacation head me back out your way. It sure is a beautiful part of the country to live in!
Hope all finishes out really smoothly after you close on your house, and that the move goes well, too.
Oh yes, best wishes on getting a great chef!!

Whaler, I hope only the best for you. Please take some of your great photographs of your new digs. I'm glad your house sold quickly.

Whaler, that is a major decision and good for you and your wife to have to have the courage to recognize the need and make take that step. Wish you both all the best as you make this transition.

Wish you both the very best. Back in 2012 we left our ranch home with three quarters of an acre of land, had a beautiful view of an old 18th century church, a woods and field behind us, to move to a 55 and over community. It is a duplex and we have what we call "roof neighbors." It was time, the other home was just too much to take care of and the cost of living is much less here and we are closer to the grandchildren. I am sure you will be happy, may just take some time to adjust.

I bet most people can't even pronounce the name of Sequim.

Warm wishes in your new home. But seriously though: less cooking = more range time!
