Kinda of strange with gas prices dropping like a rock. But can't fool me!

$2.97-$3.19 on average of late, and higher in a few places.

Was 3.29 last week and now 3.00 and lower. Just strange for such a sudden drop around the area.

It was down a lot here. I had heard that it was predicted.

I too can see through the haze.

I haven’t had local gas under $4 in weeks and it’s been trending up.

Ours has come down a little. Been mostly above $4 for a long time.
Now the best prices range between $3.79 and $4.15.

I wonder if the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is being sold again? I know 230M barrels have already been sold since January of 2020. It’s the biggest tool the feds have for controlling pump prices.

Our price is per litre.

For perspective: In liters to gallons, that's $10.34 per New Zealand dollar for unleaded 91 or $6.10 in US dollars per gallon.

My local station has their regular 87 unleaded (with 10% EtOH) at [s]$2.37[/s] per gallon. Diesel is going for $3.89 per gallon for the on-road diesel. We just filled our fuel oil and I wanted to hold off for a while, since the lowering of these prices is what usually precedes an election, but we got it done anyway. Watch, it'll drop like crazy now.

Edited to say that our gas is $3.27, not $2.37. Must be my finger dyslexia.

I’m not seeing a big drop recently. Matter of fact it’s going up in the short term. Year to year it’s down slightly.

Yep, there’s smoke and mirrors going on out there but sadly here in Washington St we’re not feeling it. Our prices bounce in between $3.50 and $4.00. I can buy gas in Idaho for around .30 less. So anytime I get the chance to buy gas there I do. For example on Wed I’m playing golf over in Idaho so I drive whatever car is the lowest on gas for a top off. My motorhome needs about 40 gallons but it’s not worth it to drive it the 100 miles the round trip will take to save on the gas.
