Hope the dealership has good insurance!!
If they're lucky they'll be able to keep the car for parts.

When I began having issues with the new Charger I purchased in 2012, the dealer told me they'd have to keep it for a week and have one of their techs drive it to see if they could replicate the issue. (The in dash computer screen which controlled EVERYTHING kept going dead.). I told him the car had less than 300 miles on it, and WE hadn't been dogging the car, I wasn't going to let his techs dog it for a week.
He got offended. "They don't do that, Sir."
About that time one of young techs blows around the dealership in a new challenger, squealing the tires in a turn and skids to a stop at the main road, makes a right turn into traffic and spins the tires as he heads off on his test drive.
"You were saying?"
In the ten months we owned the car, we had it in for service fourteen times. They Finally replaced the entire computer display and communications cables.
I traded the car on another truck the next week.
Lemon Law?
It qualified, but in VA the people's lawyer's were limited in the hours they could bill in the case. The car companies had teams to insure they didn't lose.

Hope the owner of the Camaro can get the money he had spent for his car. That's the problem with todays new cars being tied to a dealer for most all repairs because of all the computer crap. Take the money and by a nice restored one from late 60's-70's !

I agree, with that amount, he could build a nice classic muscle car, and work on it in his garage.
