Want to try my 1858 Remington 44 revolver with the BP cylinder. I have 6 lbs. of the Black MZ and I can go up to local Cabela's and get the Hornady .454 lead balls. However no caps to fit the cylinder....No problem as I found away to use Small Pistol primers which I have a plenty of. A little machine work to shorten up the nipples and pieces of plastic tubing I had laying around and now we can go BANG! Did a test and all 6 fired on first rotation of cylinder. Just another little project on another 100 degree day!

I hit the two local WW's late Aug., early fall last year and scored several hundred to add to the stock and I haven't shoot any of the BP's very much since then.
I looked the other day when I was in one of them and they didn't have any. One of the shops I buy loading stuff at usually has some but at a much higher price. I think they could be a seasonal thing now a days.
Nice project there forty, understand the inside projects on these really hot days.
I just returned from a little testing down by the barn.

Glad to be back in the house.
