We never had one but there were a few around the neighborhood.
Dad had a nice size shed so we never had need for one.

I had one back in the early 80’s. Bought it new and assembled it, man that was a lot of screws. Also bought a foundation kit that was a metal frame with about 2’x2’ squares. After assembly I filled the squares in with pea gravel and sheeted it. Worked great.

I’m still looking for a cheap shed to put up at my range so have been on Craigslist a bunch. I still see folks selling these used sheds in about the same condition as in forty’s pic. My range is in a heavy snow area and one of these would not last one winter.

I remember those. If I recall correctly, it didn't take long to look like that one.

I just moved one of those off my acreage and donated it to a neighbor who we recently craned a cottage on to his property. We battled local government for almost a year to get the permit to move his cottage so he didn’t have to live in a 5th wheel anymore!

The tin shed is still totally solid, with the standard plastic door sliders broken off, but I’ll make some new ones out of wood or aluminum.

The one I pictured is not mine. Yeah lots of screwdriver work done and before those cordless drills were around!

Dad bought one in the early 70s. Yes I remember all the screws put in by hand. First big storm it pulled up the provided stakes and ended up sitting on top of the neighbor's pine tree The man was not happy but I don't recall ever seeing him happy. Seems to me we used ropes to get it down without to much damage to the tree and minimal damage to the shed. Was firmly anchored directly after.

I had one similar to fortyshooter's. It actually stood up to having a fairly large elm tree branch fall on it, the main part of the branch landed right on one of the roof supports with some of the weight supported by the smaller branches on the ground on the other side of the shed. Unfortunately we later had a pretty big windstorm and once the sliding door blew in the whole shed ended up in a pile of rubble in my neighbors yard.

Depending on your budget and the area you live in, you might consider used wooden buildings. I bought my 10x12 range house used for $1200, and it was like new. A repo, a rent to own from the same place we bought Tina's she shed new.

We later needed another small building, to use for the start of a chicken coop and run combination. For way less than the cost of materials, we found one on craigs list for $600, plus $100 to have it moved to the farm.

I think I’m still living in the 70’s. I put this RVport up last fall. It’s all metal and put getting with screws. I get fierce winds and it still stands.

My new 30x50’ garage will be metal too. You see a lot of all metal buildings in this part of the woods.
