I was in my motor home the other day and saw a mouse run across the floor. I thought of taking Little Girl out but I knew she would only play with it. I bought a trap Saturday and set it out. Twice the mouse ate the food without tripping it. Finally this morning a mouse was caught but just barely. It had almost chewed off its foot to escape. I threw the trap and mouse outside and a quick blow with a shovel took care of it.

I tell you it’s a hard life out here on the homestead dealing with ferocious animals.

Did ya reset the trap?
Where there's one, there could be two...

Wonder how he got in. Might try dryer sheets in your underneath compartments if you don’t already have them in there

Just go ahead and take Little Girl out there, but don't feed her.

Pop the hood and check the wiring. They are notorious for chewing on automotive wiring.

Mice that is, not the cat.

I have lots of mice in our pole shed where we keep the Journey. I scattered D-Con around and our resident fox got in there
and ate some, and the neighbors found him dead. I didn't want that. He was entertaining and ate a lot of mice.

What I did was purchase a six foot piece of PVC, 3 inches in diameter. I also purchased a T 3 inch junction. I cut the
pipe in three two foot pieces and then stuck them into the T junction so that all three stuck out 2 feet.

I made two of these and now I set them up against a wall and drop the D-Con down the standing tube. The mice crawl in
from the two ends on the floor and eat away and the foxes can't get in.

I don't have a mouse problem anymore.

We had a camper stored out in our yard some years back and, yup, the mice found a way inside. They always do. Always good to check, now and then.

MouseX and RatX are supposed to be safe around other animals. I would still keep it out of reach of pets and other wildlife so they would not directly eat it but it's not supposed to hurt them if they eat the poisoned mice/rats.

My friend had a serious rat infestation until we got a Grandpa's chicken feeder that the rats couldn't feed from, she used RatX and it got rid of them and our stray/feral cat population wasn't affected.

You know Gene, I happen to know of a fellow who has a real mouse gun for just such a problem. He goes by the name of forty something and has just the new gun for mice. It's not a mare's leg, but something like a mouse kick or something similar. It's in a pretty tame, camper interior friendly round, something like a something 70. Just the thing for mice in the camper.

I’m sure it wouldn’t damage the interior or my eardrums.

I have found that sticky traps (sticky mats?) are effective.

This photo was from a couple of years ago, no problems with mice. Down to 3 of these plus a couple of others, still see no signs of mice around my place.

I get mice in the garages. Have also had mice build nests in my truck bed, stripping out the foam padding of the bedrug, and the insulation on my firewall is almost gone because of the mice. They chewed the wires for the tank pressure sensor on top of the gas tank, which is not accessible without dropping the tank. I'm also finding droppings under the seat in the storage compartment of one SxS.

Some are the grey field mice, and some are the brown and white deer mice. The deer mice are bigger, and sometimes the traps don't kill them right away. I bought the larger rat traps, which work well, but they need a little tuning to make the trigger lighter so the smaller mice still get caught. Whenever I get a mouse that is still kicking in a trap, I release it from the trap and throw it in my pond. They swim around for a bit, but a bass always comes up and eats it.

I'm also seeing a lot of chipmunks under my vehicles, and if I ever connect the dots on them doing damage, it'll be pellet gun season on them whenever I see them.

I'm definitely not a cat person, but if I could get one that would hang around the area and stay as an outside cat, I may just do that.

I see field mice all the time when I mow the lawn. And there are some other critters I’m not familiar with. They mights be voles.

Cat caught a chipmunk in the basement Friday. Delayed him on his way to the bedroom and traded some cat treats for the rodent. Disposed of the chipmunk outside. That is the forth chipmunk he has caught in the house. I still don't know how they get in or why. The first three he munched on my bed and I had fun getting the bed spread clean. He is a great mouser.

I once caught a mouse in similar circumstances, and put it in a plastic bag before smacking it with a 10” cast iron pan. I learned that day where the term “overkill” comes from!
