Cost of guns today....

I just base that on the cost of my car/truck oil changes....with me doing to work of course. $640 for a new gun is just cost of oil and filter for my truck x 10. Not bad!

Better get it now. I don't see them going down in price. I recently made a small haul from my favorite gun shop. Two revolvers and a shotgun, plus some Black Hills ammunition that I couldn't find anywhere. When I decided on which of the two shotguns I wanted, after being shown a nice used one and a beautiful new one, I chose the old, used one. I paid twice as much as the new one, but I said, they aren't making any more of these, I'll take this one. If you have the money and you want it and it's available, grab it if you have the opportunity. Don't let price hold you back if you know what you are getting.

Well, Congrats on the purchases Dave. I hear ya on they won't get any cheaper.
I was in one of the local shops a few weeks ago and he had one of what I want, but didn't have the cash on hand.
We did talk about a cash price and he said he would work with me on it, so that's a positive.
I'll probably bite the bullet, so to speak, and get one here in the next month or so.

If you see it like it grab it if you can! Just what I did when I found that old 1892 Winchester made in 1895 and the price was within reason. It was posted for sale that day and knew it would not be there long.

Ive always wanted a Winchester 9422. Local shop has an almost new one as they cant tell if its ever been fired or not. They are asking 1200.00 for it. Im not sure I want to spend 1200.00 for a 22. But when you look around that is the going price. 1K for a new Ruger Marlin 357 sounds a little better to me.

I spied a 9422 in a local gun shop when I lived in Virginia and snapped it up. I think I paid
$400.00 for it back in 1980. It is pristine except for one scratch on the receiver. They are
no blued but have some sort of enamel finish. I seldom shoot it. It's just too pretty.

I had a 9422LR, 9422M and a 9410. My friend has the 9410 And I still gave the WMR.

I have the Winchester 9422 Boy Scout edition. I "had to have it" after seeing it previewed at one of the National Boy Scout jamborees in the 80's. It still is unfired. It's only ever been a wall hanger, which is what I wanted it for.

I did. I was not an Eagle yet at the 1981 Jamboree. That is where the Boy Scout and Eagle Scout models were shown. I remember loving the regular Scout model. I ordered it from somewhere as soon as I could after turning 18 and also making Eagle Scout by then. I suppose if I ever saw the Eagle Scout model in a shop, that it would have to come home with me too. I know Henry has or does make models for both. I put them in that category too. If I saw one, I'd bring it home.
I have an Eagle Scout Buck knife, personalized, that I also prize. It is a model 500 "Duke". Buck quietly offers it for Eagle Scouts at just about their cost. I never knew about it until a few years ago. If someone you know makes that rank, look into the Buck knife for them. It's a lifelong gift they will cherish.
