Lord, where has it gone?

Is there a celebrity or somebody else who epitomizes the passage of time for you?

I've long been at least a casual fan of the Scottish rock band Simple Minds. Back in the mid-'80s, Jim Kerr (the lead singer) looked like a lot of the kids I went to school with every day at Chico State University. Now he looks older than Gene Hackman in The Quick and the Dead.

Whenever I see him now, it's a stark reminder of how many more days are behind me than ahead of me.

Just watched a Dan Rather interview with Robert Plant last night. Still has a decent voice but nothing like his Led Zeppelin days. At 75 he's only 4 years older than me, Jimmy Page is 80. :o

I could never remember a time when Fidel Castro and Queen Elizabeth was not around. Now that they are both gone it’s a passage of time.

Wow, Simple Minds. I have an old CD around somewhere, I’d better get it out and see if I still have a CD player around.

I still have an 8-track player in my garage/shop junk pile, but the tapes for it are long gone.

Most 8 tracks seemed to end up on the shoulder of some highway. Miles of tape all knotted and pulled out. :)
