Rearranging a few things
Rearranging a few things
Yesterday I decided to do a little rearranging that I'd been thinking about.
I have this old hatrack? ( I can't recall the proper name for it), and some other antiques so here's what I ended up doing. This piece is near the front door. It, and the double barrel, were both made around the mid-1880's so thought it would be fun to combine them along with some other period correct small items.

I have an old 1880s double like that. What make and model is yours? Mine is a Husqvarna Coach Gun.
Nice display.... very cool.

Chatham Arms import from Belgium. Laminated steel barrels. Picked it up at a local estate auction about 20years ago. Apparently they were widely imported by a number of US companies, but there's no other markings on it that I could find. Don't really know much more about it. Blackpowder 12 gauge, chambered for 21/2" shells. I did fire a couple modern mini-shells in it once and nothing blew up, but I don't anticipate doing it again. These old laminate barrels aren't really trustworthy.BrokenolMarine wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 12:22 pmI have an old 1880s double like that. What make and model is yours? Mine is a Husqvarna Coach Gun.

Nice display, Gene.
I have an old BP shotgun hanging over the back door in the cave.
Picked it up at a Flee market way way long ago, no markings at all.
It's not shoot able, the stock is all busted, but does make for a good wall hanger.
I bought it and an old single shot with no markings for $60.
I've shot the SS a few times, but it just stands at the end of the desk with a few canes.

I have an old Cresent Arms double barrel 16 gauge hanging in the family room.
It was my shotgun when I was a teenage but it's no longer safe to shoot, so it's
a wall hanger now.
Probably wasn't safe when I hunted with it back then either.

Gunny, that’s a good looking piece of furniture and with the other items really is a nice display.
