How times have changed

Post by clovishound » Thu Mar 07, 2024 2:57 pm

Years ago my buddy and I would spend at least one of my off days each week out on one of the local rivers, diving. As we got older, that changed to going out in the woods, hunting. Now we get together once a week and go out to lunch.

I could probably still manage the physical activity involved with river diving, although I would have to exercise a bit more care about some of the variables. I'm definitely still capable of getting out hunting, although my buddy is having some health problems that have precluded that right now.

It stinks getting old, but I suppose it beats the alternative.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

You’re still doing fine but when you report you’re meeting your buddy at Dennys at 3:00pm for dinner you might start to worry a bit

Not to worry. The only Denny's we have around here is in an area I wouldn't want to spend any time in.

Just a few years ago, Tina and I would float a section of the James River in Virginia at least twice a week in the summer fly fishing for smallmouth bass... or kayaking the lakes, farm ponds, and reservoirs, for largemouth. What a difference those few years make.
