It does take time for your eyes to get settled(?). It was a disturbing time until after the second surgery/acclimation period and I was able to get a good eye test to order a pair of glasses. Several weeks in fact. In the interim I just used some reading glasses from Walmart and dealt with it. Of course I was impatient. Hang tight.

Yesterday was the 7th day and my right eye made a big improvement. I could see 20/20 at distance but anything closer than 20 feet became blurred and reading up close was a total strikeout. Then my depth of field improved so I can see clearly from infinity to about 4 feet and reading although not perfect is possible.

My next checkup for the right eye is on the 24th and I get my left eye done on the 30th.

Best of luck with your surgery and fight with cancer. Keep fighting.

Fall of 2021 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. While doing scans in preparation for surgery, they discovered something up near my heart. In the winter of 2021, I was diagnosed with a rare thymic carcinoma. About 1.5 people in 1 million will get it. I got it. I’m currently on chemo which is keeping both the thymic and prostate cancers in check. Gotta keep fighting!

Maybe I've mentioned this before, (old age sneaks up on you), but when they made CBDs legal in Minnesota some friends started telling
me how much they helped with arthritis, so I gave them a try. They did give me a lot of relief with my hands and knees but one side effect
I hadn't expected was my vision got better. It has gotten so good in fact that I'm sitting here typing without glasses and often I start driving
to town and realize I don't have them on but my drivers license still requires them.
All they are is an anti inflammatory. You do not feel any other effect from them. No euphoria or anything like that.
Just saying..................
I've had both eyes done but this also helped.

Haven't tried CBD's, but my distance vision has improved somewhat and since turning 70 I had to go in to renew last year. Asked them to give me the vision test and while not 20-20 it was good enough to remove the corrective lenses requirement.

$170 for the renewal but I paid a little extra to extend it to 8 years instead 6 years until the next renewal, also have the enhanced license and am still keeping my motorcycle endorsement even though I haven't driven one for over 30 years.

I get my left eye done this afternoon. Yesterday I received the billing statement for the right eye. The Eye Clinic Of Wisconsin billed the VA for $7,629 and the VA paid $504.84. By contract they have to accept what the VA gives them and can’t bill me the difference.

A lot of private care facilities will not accept veterans because the VA pays so little. When they do accept veterans they sometimes treat us like second class citizens.

Last Thursday I had a kidney biopsy at the VA Hospital in Madison. It was a long day as they picked me up at 4:30 am and I didn’t get back till way after dark. I do not have the results back for any of the four appointments I had that day.

The VA pays the same as Medicare.

Vets should get it for free. No bill should be sent to anyone

Thanks. Surgery went great and now my left eye sees 20/20 or close to it. It still has some cloudiness but that should clear in 3 to 5 days.
