Climbing Mount Si

I hiked up Mount Si yesterday morning with a friend. We did the four mile hike and 3,000 foot elevation gain in 1 hours and 50 minutes. Two weeks ago our time was right at 2 hours. I could have done it faster yesterday but my friend was slowing me down. Not bad for a 67 year young man.

Very good. My oldest daughter hiked the A.T. trail this summer in 5 months and 2,189 miles later..I thought she was crazy, but, she did it.

Funny you mention that..She wants to hike that in April of 2017! If you like I will post her interview from a sports writer for S.I. very inspirational and you are never to old to follow your dreams. She had a very tough time in her own mind with the hike. Just married for 5 months..is it selfish..why am I doing it..? A podcast interview about 45 minutes long.

This is really gory, but I was watching a YouTube about Everest, and there are 150 bodies on the mountain. I guess they just leave them up there. Some are used as landmarks to mark the way. Unless the families want to pay $$$$ to bring them down, most prefer to leave them where they fell, doing what they loved to do.

Sorry for the derail, but mountain climbing doesn't come up very often.........

I haven't done Everest but have read all the classic climbing books written about climbing it. Yes leaving the bodies on the mountain is common.

The Little Si trail is not nearly as long or steep as Mount Si. If you bike 120 miles a week you could have done it easy.
