walking and weight loss

I gained 20 pounds after leaving Seattle because I was trapped in my motor home and then didn’t get back to hiking once I got to Wisconsin. Sure I’ve done Timms Hill a few times but not like I was hiking five times a week.
The good news is I’ve lost 15 pounds and according to my drivers license I should loose another 5. I am hiking more the last few weeks and not carrying that extra 15 pounds makes it more fun.
One of the best things about living where I do is I can walk a rural road for 1/2 miles which will take me to the Timms Hill Trail which connects to the Ice Age Trail. I can literally hike 1,200 miles of trails from my front door.

We have a half mile driveway through deep woods. When we first married Carol used to hike the drive in her nightie first thing in
the morning. One morning she met the neighbors hiking in the other direction. That ended that.
She and our daughter used to go down to the lake in nighties picking gooseberries. The mosquitoes ended that as well.

I walk down to the mailbox in my pj’s. But my pj’s are actually running sweats so it’s not too out of place. In Seattle people would go shopping in genuine pj’s.

Outstanding, Gene. Good for you on getting back in shape. That means so much for oldsters like us.

I thought I would be snowshoeing by now. Since there is no snow I walked around in the hills. My house is just to the right of the upper letter C.

It’s about 2 walking miles the the G/H in the lower right. This is a hiker’s paradise.
