Not sure how far we can go with this, but a recent email from Anthony Imperato is the genesis for this thread. I sent an email to Mr Imperato suggesting that an upscale version of the Big Boy Steel lineup be offered in a highly polished real bluing. He said that may be something to consider, and mentioned that it was Louis Imperato, his father, who told Colt to offer a highly polished line of revolvers, which is known as Colt Royal Blue. Other names for this process are known as Carbonia Bluing, or the Python finish.

What bits of trivia have you all?

The Henry Classic (H001) was designed by Erma Werke and manufactured by Ithaca and sold as a Model 72 Saddlegun. Yes our beloved Henry Classic has German roots.

If memory serves me, the original Ithaca 72 was of US manufacture, but the little plinker was recalled because of a common disease of the 70's....USA made goods were just terrible and unreliable; and the manufacture of this model was outsourced to Erma Werke of West Germany.
