I'm thinking of moving to Montana in the next year. Most likely in the early spring. Some areas I like are Wolf Creek, Noxon, Trout Creek, or the big city of Missoula.

Montana is a good one. If I weren't so darn old I'd move back to Alaska.

I've never been there, but I really like seeing it on TV.

Like DD, I have never been to Montana, but somehow I think I would like it.

If you do move, we expect tons of pictures.

Sounds nice and relaxing to me.

Would love to move to more open prairie.

I grew up in Montana and Idaho so I'm familiar with the states. Well as familiar as a ten year old can be. I like the Wolf Creek area as I've camped there in the summer for years but it is east of the divide. I prefer the west.

Isn't Montana crazy cold in the winter.......too cold for this California boy.

I like the cold. I just contacted a real estate agent.

If you like the cold it sounds like a great place to live for you.

That is the main reason I like Montana.

I have never been there but from everything that I have heard, seen and read it is a beautiful place to live. My father used to make an annual trip from Pennsylvania to hunt there. The gun laws there make it a plus. I wish you the very best in your search for a home in Montana.

If you do move, certain that you'll meet some nice folk on the Montana prairies, SH. Enjoy your search for a new home, and also the fresh air everywhere there!

I have a friend that lived in Belt, MT and visited him every summer for a few weeks. Open carry is common there. I remember walking into the local ma and pa grocery store and a little girl about ten years old was there unsupervised. She walked right up to me and started asking me questions as she knew I didn't live there -where ya from, who ya seeing, how long ya gonna be in town? You would never see that in a big town.

Even Elmer Keith got out of Montana after a really bad winter . Good luck if you move there. I'm sure there will be a lot of places to shoot your Henrys.

I'm looking at what they call the "banana belt". It is the warmest winters in Montana and seldom gets below zero.

Does Montana have more than one banana belt? When I did a search, both the Tobacco Valley and Bitteroot Valley say they are the banana belt.

For what it's worth, I wish my town here in Wisconsin was in a banana belt.
