While browsing Ruger's site, I learned that August is National Shooting Month. Did not know of such a thing. Have you shot this month? I have not. I have been thinking about it. Now, I plan to making it a point to. Hopefully, this weekend will be nice and clear.

I never knew that such a thing like National Shooting Month even existed.

I'd like to say that I participated by going to the range today. But I was trying some new eyes (got my Astigmatism & Cataract surgeries within the last month) & new sights. As far as the "quality" of my participation today, I wasn't one of the more stellar shooters today. Probably shoulda kept both of those new eyes open when I shot, I reckon. Hope others that participated today, or any day this month, had a better go of it.

Still had fun, tho.... Just gettin' back out after a month off was wonderful.

Another here that never heard of the National Shooting Month, bet the leftist hate that.
But, yes I've pulled a trigger or two this month, some was right off the back porch.
Said you were cruzing the Ruger site, you looking at a new Ruger or a Marlin?
Seeing that I took off the rest of the week, just might sling a little lead today.

Didn’t know this either but thankfully I have a charity shoot this Saturday so I’ll be pulling the trigger on the ole’ Browning Silver Hunter trying to dust some clay birds.

I was looking for sales or accessories (for my EC9s or my Marlins). I am thinking about adding a 308 though. Thinking about something with a wood stock. But, synthetic is not out of the question. I want something inexpensive but not cheap. I thinking between $500-$700 range. I handled a Ruger American. Yet, it seemed kind of cheap to me. The Mossberg Patriot seems decent. But, I have not handled one yet. I did handle one that I think was a Bergara. It was nice. However, it was in the $900 range. I trying to stay with my price range. So, I will passed for now.

GFK, you might check out the Savage rifles, they compare in price with the Ruger and Mossberg.
And are very accurate right out of the box, I have of their Axis models. They definitely mire accurate than I. The 110 model is step above the Axis and are real shooters also.

Can second the statement about the 110 Savage models. My son has a Model 111 in .270 Win., which is essentially a "lower-level" 110, but without the Accutrigger. That goofy piece of pipe is a Tack Driver with cheap factory Remington green/yellow box stuff.

Been shooting twice this month, both time with the Pietta .45 Colt. Has turned into a fine shooter. Didn't know about "National Shooting Month" either.
Maybe I'll get out again before the end of August. .22's next trip I think.

Yeah, Mrs. Hatchdog surprised me one Christmas morning with it. She has good taste.

I’ve shot once or twice this month. With so much summer work to do I don’t get f much of a chance. Seems stupid but in the winter when it’s zero degrees out I get the most shooting done.

A good friend of mine is selling ammo through this outlet. I scored some 22s pretty cheap.

I thought that I might get out this weekend. But, the rain is coming down pretty good! Might have to make September my National Shooting month? Yet, I did pick up a few boxes if ammo, just in case.
