Huh, Furnace Creek, wonder why they call it that?

Dave77, best to you with these expected triple digit temps. Looks like your area is in a fire warning along with the excessive heat warning. No wind to speak of here so for now we’re not in the fire warning like you. That could change Wednesday.

Right now it’s 59 and sunny. Spokane is looking at triple digits today but here at my place “just” the upper 90’s. Don’t think we will feel the difference. Of course in downtown Spokane where many low income folks live it will be 5-6 degrees hotter. And many of those folks do not have A/C.

Mostly today I will be puttering around inside but my wife said something about going out to look at flagstone. WTH, she wants me to install flagstone rocks in this heat??????? I think she has an ulterior motive here…

It’s in Death Valley. I lived in Spokane for years and have seen it over 100 there.

Our VFW post has been asked to do a funeral today for a Marine who did two tours in
Vietnam. We will supply flags and a rifle salute at the church.
We got the new Dish Antenna installed on the RV yesterday and after we do the funeral
I will take it to town and get it fueled up. We leave for a weeks trip on Thursday.
I hope no one is hurt with the hurricane. I haven't talked to my cousins in St. Louis
yet, but they should be OK.

Yes, we have always had days in triple digits but overall it does seem to be warmer here. I’d like to tell the sun to “get off my lawn”.

Just looked at the thermometer and it’s 64 right now. That’s nearly unheard of for my location here north of the city. High today here at my place is 99 and in Spokane itself 103. I’ve been taking the dogs for a hike early around 7:00 am and on my trail there has been no dew whatsoever. It’s still green as you can see in this pic but there’s no surface moisture at all. And with all the ferns in this spot there must be some sub-irrigation. Come fall this will all be crusty brown and ready to explode.

Got a very nice surprise today, one of my sons texted that he just landed in the big city, he’s just finished a 6 month deployment overseas. Just in time for his brother, from Denmark, and family are coming next week for a visit. BTW sunny and 85 today?

63 when I got up, pretty warm for 5:00am around here. Today is the peak of our current heat spell with 104 forecast in Spokane and 101 here in Deer Park. Then a cool down to the mid to upper 90’s for the next several days. We’re heading to the lake next Tuesday for some days and I think it’s going to be too hot to go to the lake. Huh? No power at the campsite so in order to run I will need to run the generator which can get annoying to other campers. Not that there won’t be a dozen other genny’s running.

Today I’m heading out early to mow the lawn and take the dogs for a hike and then it’s hunker down inside. We have a late afternoon doctor appointment and then we’re meeting a couple of neighbors at a new Mexican restaurant in Spokane. I’m not much on spicy food but my wife loves it.

About the same here but were supposed get some gusty winds tonight and tomorrow.

I don't call upper 90's a cool down, I'd love to see 70's or even mid 80's.

Good morning, Holy cow it's 65 out this AM, around 90 for the high.
Presently the humidity is at 96 %.
Washed the scooter yesterday afternoon, a few of us are riding down to Pulaski TN this Sat.
Should be a nice little ride with some nice scenery, about a 100 miles one way.

We're supposed to leave for the Winnebago Grand National Rally at the factory in Forest City today.
How some ever I ate something that definitely did not agree with me and the last 12 hours have been most uncomfortable.
We will see what the day will bring.
Carol looks foreword to this every year so I'll do my best. Fortunately my bathroom travels with me.
