Got one of those snakes living in my garage Forty

That's a beautiful car but I'm not sure what it is. I enlarged the photo but can't make out the emblem.

That's kind of what I was thinking but the soft top threw me off, I don't think I've ever seen one with a top up.

Reproduction or original? If it's an original it needs a nicer garage.

I watched a video of Bill Cosby talking about the Cobra that Shelby Built for him. He drove it once and it scared him to death. The guy that bought it from HIM died in it. It was one of two with that much power and .... too much for most. Cosby was starring on "I Spy" at the time I believe.

In 1967, Bill Cosby bought a Shelby Cobra Super Snake CSX3303 from his friend and former race car driver, Carroll Shelby. The CSX3303 was one of two Super Snakes built, which is a modified 1965 Cobra Competition roadster retained by Shelby American as a PR car and then modified with the addition of two superchargers and a Ford C-6 automatic gearbox. Of the two cars built, one was retained by Shelby and the other was sold to Cosby. The album title, 200 M.P.H., refers to the car’s top speed, which unnerved Cosby so much that he only drove it once before returning it. Shelby American sold it to S and C Motors in San Francisco, who then sold it to their customer, Tony Maxey. Maxey destroyed himself and CSX3303 by driving off of a cliff and into the Pacific Ocean.

Why is CSX 3015 so historically significant? Carroll Shelby. He built at a time when Americans were just Americans and proud to be Americans. He told me he built it just to see how fast it was and he told me it was a Monster that threw belts off on a regular basis.

Wow! Replica or not, I love it. I knew immediately what it was, however, similar to what Dave said, I don't think I've ever seen one with a top at all.
I have a book by Carroll Shelby called " the Cobra Story " autographed by Carroll.

Its definitely not a real Cobra Marine its a kit car. Even the kits now are over 40k. The top isn’t normal for sure as the guy who owned it before did the top mod so he could drive it in bad weather conditions if he had to. Belongs to my neighbors son and my garage was open as I only have 2 vehicles. So I told him he could use it for as long as he wants. They are kind enough to watch my place in the winter while Im in Texas. He just had it appraised will see what it comes back in value. Just giving Forty and others a bad time

I've always admired the Cobras, but I'd even be happy with the Shelby Mustangs. When I was in High School in the 70s, a friend restored a Shelby Mustang GT350. The thing was EVIL. He did an amazing job, and one of the "Oil Princes" going to school at VCU in Richmond asked him in a parking lot how much he would take for the car. He quoted some outrageous price thinking the kid would scoff at him and turn away. The Prince turned to his driver and nodded, the driver counted out the price from a roll of hundreds. My buddy restored cars to earn money for college so he couldn't say no... his next project was a Boss 302.

Wow that is a nice one Al! Did he leave you the keys so you can rotate the tires to avoid flat spots and sticking piston rings???
Do you know the specs of what kind of venom is under the hood? Bet it sounds good!

Back when I was 16 my brother had recently bought his new 1970 Hemicuda. He was still living at home and kept the Cuda parked in Dads one car garage. Working for the telephone company he had to attend some microwave tech classes out of state for a week and it was my job to crank up the Hemicuda every other day and of course move it around a little when I got home from school. Man what great times that was!

I highly recommend the Shelby Heritage Museum in Las Vegas. I believe they have 30 of them along with a few GT40’s. And of course some Shelby Mustangs.

A neighbor up the road when we moved here had an original. When he had the house built he had the builder add a second two car garage and put in a dedicated hvac system for the garages. His house is just at 1/4 mile from mine and when he rolled that beauty out for a drive it sounded sweet.

Fantastic beauty. I'm with Forty, you need to take that out and rotate the tires.

Yes, and leave that top at home...so it doesn't get damaged!

Under the hood is a stroked 351 Windsor. It sounds good and Im sure it gets the job done. I havent ridden in it yet as its a little tight on the right for a big man. I think they said the compression on it was 10 to 1. Neighbors kid loves it and Im sure that it will be a work in progress as they are already doing more to it.

I would have thought that they would have used a 351 CLEVELAND . That is a whole different engine than the Windsor.

Totally agree and I had a 73 Mustang with a Cleveland in it. It was a great car

Neighbor kid did ok. His appraisal came back @ 10k more than he paid for it. Hes a good guy and not really a kid. Grown man has a pretty decent job.
