Yep Buster got off the bed and started acting weird wanting to crawl under the bed and then 10 minutes later I hear the thunder and rain coming.
His safe place is either the bathroom or in my computer room under the chair if I'm in there. Those ears of his pick up anything in the distance.

Woke up to full sunshine this morning here.
First in a couple days, the last few have been overcast.
Hope it wasn't too bad.

We had four straight days of rain. Needed it. Luckily it was steady, but with enough breaks it didn't cause flooded. Did fill the ponds and soak the pastures. They are looking real good.

We had an inch of rain on Friday and while at the range Saturday the creek was running good.

Thunder, lightning, hard rain most all night. No bad stuff that I see yet. Haven't check the gauge, but guessing close to 2". Looks like a nice day ahead with temp heading to mid 70's. All week is looking good. Garden planting time mid week.

Fortyshooter, I was reading your post about the weather and was hoping you didn't have anything bad coming your way, and I ended up posting my weather info in your post above. Sorry about that.

Thursday of last week I played golf in a snow storm and since then we have had a blast of warm temps and sunshine. My place in one week has gone from brown to green. Thanks ma nature.

5" of wet, heavy snow this morning for us. This April has been a very snowy month.

If you are in Central or Eastern Virginia, there could be some severe weather on the way. Saw the weather report earlier this morning.

Just now sitting at my computer and Buster comes in and sits at my feet. I ask him what's up and then minute later hear the thunder! In his safe place again for some afternoon storms. Of course the power won't take a hit since we installed the generator and won't get to use it!

That's just how it works. installing it is insurance. We've had our Generac kick in once in six months, but
it was there and we were glad.

Some heavy rain over night and then a steady light rain from 7 - 10 am. Power went out for 2 hours but no real problems. Rain stopped and sun came out til a about 3 pm and now raining.

My first year out of the Corps, we rented a house in Chesterfield County while we looked for a house to buy and I got locked into the new job in Corrections. (Didn't like it, but it paid the bills.) When the lease was up, I bought a house 30 minutes OUT of the metro area on an Acre. Lived there a couple years, then moved another thirty minutes out, and onto a bigger lot with a bigger house. (Ten acres, where we kept adding property until we had twenty.) We heated with the wood stove and had lanterns for the power outages and the small gas genny for the Fridge and Freezer, hot water heater, but had to turn off the freezer to run the hot water heater. That portable Genny was a pain.

First Christmas in the new house, we lost power the day after, and it was out (for us) for just over two weeks. They had crews in from three states assisting with restoration, but we lived on a tertiary road and at the END of the power line... We were WAY down the priority list. We eventually got a whole house Generac. Power was never out in our area more than three or four days after that investment, but NEVER out for us again. Never regretted the investment and recovered the full cost when we sold the farm.
