It took more time to run the last 10 laps than it did to run half the race. Didn’t watch to much of it anyway just drank a couple beers and cooked some sliders. Those litter sliders were pretty good
Yeah, it was almost as bad as the last 2 minutes of a college basketball game.

I am hoping the rumors trackhouse racing may give Shane Van Gisbergen a one off drive at one of the road courses are true.
If you dont know who SVG is he's another kiwi that has made a career in Supercars in Aus. Was Scott Mclaughlin's main rival before he went to dive indycar for team Penske. The bloke is quick in just about anything, raced a round of the world rally championship last year finished 3rd in class and 9th overall. Won the 2021 NZ grand prix after setting off the in car fire extinguisher on the formation lap and starting from pit lane.
If it has wheels he can drive it and at the same level as drivers that do it full time.
In a nascar on a road course a top 5 finish or even a race win wouldn't be out of the question.

WOW! What's the reason for that?
Caly, becoming anti racing as well as anti gun?

well, the season kicks off in a few minutes with drop of the Green Flag at Daytona .... for me, its time to give NASCAR another chance and it appears I'm not the only one --- the grandstands and infield are packed .... hope it turns out to be a good race :D
Interesting as I was wondering if you all were going to go back to posting on Nascar and sure enough, here it is. I have to admit that, although I am still in boycott mode, it seems like Nascar is softening up on it's Woke-ness. The LA race was much more respectful this year, I was glad to see, and the Daytona pre-race and all had a flavor of the old days.

I watched the Daytona race and although a little flat, the last dozen or two laps were great. I'll also be watching most of the race today. Some might say "how are you boycotting it when you watch most of it?", lol. Nascar does not know I'm watching it. As some may remember, I have antenna only TV. I still am not going to attend any races and I still do not click onto anything Nascar "official" online.

A side note on the Grandstands though. They bragged on a "sell-out" crowd. The place now only holds 150,000 (although the official capacity is listed at only 101,500). They must have torn out a lot of seats in the recent years. By comparison, little 'ol 1/2 Mile Bristol holds 160,000.

I am just going to see how it goes. Will Nascar ever win me back (and many others out there like me), time will tell.

They cant recharge their cars out there because there is to much on the grid already. It would take 3 days to complete a race

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

TV race announcers mentioned that a large portion[80%?] of the track proprty has been sold to a commercial developer. Seems like there will be a short track of sorts with some leased property for "new" track and parking etc. Can't keep a track in this damn place! Riverside, Ontario, now this mess. And no drag strips other than the Fairplex. Lordy!
