RIP/Ian Tyson
Ian Tyson was a Canadian treasure that few knew about in the states. Was an early folk singer in the 60's with Sylvia and was a contemporary of Dylan, Peter,Paul,Mary and others of that early scene. Him and Sylvia had numerous albums (11 ?). His song "Four Winds" is almost the Canadian National Anthem. Later in life he started to write and sing about the cowboy life and western Canadian traditions. He was a true rancher and cowboy. He died at his ranch and (hopefully) with his boots on.

I rode with him moving cows years ago. Large fall gather, didn’t know he was coming. He was buddies with the brand inspector I knew. Spent about 2 hours with Tyson just me and him out in the hills.
