Dont get me wrong, i really like the lights and busting them, however its caused me the same odd problem as last year. I can not get the login button to function. However I can try and post a new topic and it will throw up the login in stuff where i cam get in, but the log in button itself, in the upper right corner does nothing. Same thing happened last christmas. Guess i will do the work around until the lights go away in january.

Save this url to your bookmarks (or favorites bar). It will open the login dialog bypassing the upper right login on the forum home page.

You could also try using an adblocker to block the lights. This is what I do.

Click on your name, click on user control panel, click on board preferences, click on edit global settings, from there you can turn off the Christmas lights and the snow. I don't mind the lights but I find the snow very annoying.
Also I don't log off any of my forums, just close the window and when I open the short cut to the forum I'm already logged in. Will occasionally get logged off but not very often.

Ya the snow storm was causing my laptop to get hot and the fan to run full speed. The snow storm is running a lot of scripts. One script per snow flake. That is a lot of load for a webpage.
On a cute side note, the snow storm blows toward your cursor on a computer/laptop. Move your cursor around and the snow direction changes with your cursor.

Thank you for sharing that. Only works though AFTER a user logs in. Won't help Ozarkwoodswalker pre-login.

Ok. So on your phone at some point you must have saved the forum's home page url. You could do the same with the url I offered.

You can leave them on. Just save the url I provided earlier on your phone. It's takes you right to the login screen.

daytime dave
...
I tried accessing the HRF from my smart phone and see the same problem.
None of the buttons on the FAQ/Register/Login row work.
This is because the mobile version of the HRF home page uses a one row "Henry Rifle Forums" top of page banner followed by the FAQ/Register/Login row immediately below in the 2nd row. The Lights take up at least 2 rows, overlapping both the banner and FAQ/Register/Login row.
Dave might be able to fix this for mobile phone users by adding a couple of rows to the mobile version of the HRF banner.

That's an east coast thing
I see them too going in the opposite direction of the cursor when viewing the Board Index. Toward the cursor when viewing posts.

Yup, just noticed that.
