Great to have old pictures of your family in uniform.

I'm the only one in my immediate family to have ever served. My dad joined the Navy Reserves right around the end of WWII, but only attended a few meetings until they decided they weren't needed. My Grandfather was conscripted for WWI, but after a couple weeks of basic, they sent everyone home due to the outbreak of the Spanish flu.

My wife has a really cool ambrotype of one of her ancestors in his civil war uniform. Her father was one of the youngest captains in the Merchant Marines captaining tankers during WWII.

You should get someone that knows what they are doing clean up those wonderful photos. It's amazing what can be done with modern editing software, and the great thing is that your originals will be untouched.

My wife is into genealogy, and got really good at it working on her family's old photos. Unfortunately, her eyesight precludes her from doing that now.

Yes very cool. Love the pic with the young child. My dad too served in the Korean War as did his dad who was career Air Corps/Force. I remember a picture he had around of him with a young Korean child similar to the one you posted.

Hats off to all these great veterans.
