Went the orthopedic doc today and they checked out that sore finger joint on my left hand. After looking at the x-ray it was decided it was arthritis/tendonitis and a shot in my palm at that finger joint was the plan. Feeling much better now with a follow up in 4 weeks.
Maybe a shooting glove for that hand might help too with some cushion. Will see how it goes.

Glad it wasn't too bad. Good plan with a glove.

I'd have to get a shot in all 8 fingers and both thumbs.
A shooting glove might be a good idea with my Henry, when I shot it recently it was quite painful on the back of my fingers when opening the lever even with it's leather cover, not so much closing it.

No surgery is always good. For a trigger finger my doc said go home and soak it in cider, don't know what he meant

Getting the shot was well worth it. Now a day later I can move that finger full travel without pain or binding up. Feels good now!

Good luck Forty. i hope that shot does the trick for you. I had a cortisone shot under my kneecap for pain and it worked for about a month. Pain is now back, but not as bad so I'll put up with it as long as I can.

Have a neighbor that had the same thing with his knee. They can only give you so many shots before that causes more damage and that means a knee joint replacement. He had that done a while back and said the recovery the first 2 weeks was very painful. Said if he had to do it again he would just get a peg leg installed along with a pirate starter kit!

A couple of years ago my left knee was getting painful especially when bowling (it's knee I bend when bowling), wore my brace which helped a little. Went to the same doctor who replaced my right knee, after x-rays he said it was nowhere near bad enough for Medicare to pay for a replacement. Gave me a cortisone shot and said I could have up to 3 a year if needed, the first shot took care of the pain and I have not needed another shot and no longer have to wear the brace.
BTW, it's been 7 years since my right knee replacement and it's been great. No pain at all.
