we learned this morning that my 95 year old Aunt Bea passed away .... she was my side of the family's last member of what is known as our country's Greatest Generation .... my Dad was one of 7 children and they have all passed on .... she was one of my Mom's sisters .... Maureen does have on Aunt left on her side of the family .... its hard to believe that yet another chapter has turned

So sorry for your loss Jim. Savor the memories.

Our dining room table is one my Mother purchased in 1946 from Montgomery Ward. It's nothing special and
a little rickety, but at that table have sat scores of relatives who are gone. I have photos of may of them at
either
Christmas or Thanksgiving, or Easter. They always ate and then played cards at it. When my Mother passed
I couldn't bear to let it go to auction. I hope one of our children takes it when we go and keep the memories going.

Our condolences to your family, I had 14 aunts and uncles and all have passed, sad to see the end of a generation.

Sorry for your loss. In the last few years I have watched those I knew who served in WWII pass. Two were bomber pilots who completed their required missions and came home and went on about their lives. Fathers of friends. The other was the father of my patrol partner and was the Maintenance Chief for Pappy Boyington of the Black Sheep Squadron. He did the same. Had a long career as a plumber, and was the Sergeant at Arms for his "Lodge" in Jersey. Because I was a fellow Marine and an Aviation Marine at that, he would tell me tales now and then. Gold. Most just walked past his chair in the den when they visited. But I always took time to stop and chat, even if only briefly. The rewards were great.

My condolences Jim. All my aunts and uncles have passed, but my wife's uncle Andy is still doing well. He is in his mid 90's and still in good health. This past summer his immediate relatives took him to a Yankees game. He was brought out on the field celebrated for his military service. I can remember playing golf with him when he visited us 20+ years ago when we lived in Georgia.

prayers and good wishes sincerely appreciated .... when it comes to being part of the "Greatest Generation" Aunt Bea and Uncle Stan clearly deserved the title .... her working life was spent working with developmentally challenged young people and from all we've heard over the years, she made a positive difference in many, many lives .... Uncle Stan was an Army Ranger in WWII .... his outfit was one that was sent into Normandy just before the invasion to help the underground
