No kidding. I just watched Tucker Carlsons segment on this. Unless the EIA is wrong, it ain't gonna get fixed in 25 days. I can't even imagine the depth of the consequences of this.

Two questions:
1. Was there ZERO imported oil coming in to the USA 2.5 years ago? Because I’m pretty sure there is a steady flow of oil going from the Arctic (not just Alaska) to the lower 48…
2. When did Energy start getting spelled “inergy”?

Carol and I were discussing this last night. Although the shortage of diesel may effect our going south this Winter,
we are pretty well set up to survive. We had a Generac installed this Fall that runs on Propane and we have a
few thousand gallons of propane prepaid for the Winter. We have two freezers stocked with food as well as a lot of canned
goods. When it gets really bad we have a woods full of rabbits and squirrels, (if I can convince Carol that they
are tasty), deer, and plenty of firewood.
It would be like the old days growing up on the farm in the 40s and 50s.
Oh, and I am well supplied with the means to protect what we have.

What I am concerned about are our relatives living in the city. One daughter is in North Minneapolis, another daughter is
in downtown Buffalo, NY. If there are actually food and fuel shortages I would suggest they come live with us in the
country. See, the folks in the country have access to all kinds of food and heat sources that the city folks can only steal
from one another.
I hope this never comes true. It would be absolute chaos and would not serve anyone.

To me, that is the downside of living in a city.

This is one of the reasons I wanted to leave the Seattle area and move to a rural setting. I doubt an angry mob will loot my home here in a survival situation.
I’ve made plans to take my neighbor to Texas in my motor home in January. I didn’t want to tell her we couldn’t go so I gave her the odds of us getting stranded in Texas because we couldn’t get diesel. We were planning a 5,000 mile trip in a vehicle that gets 8 mpg of diesel. She told me we should take the car and that we will have fun anyway.

Deep in the heart! I’m not sure where we are going. I’m just the driver for ‘Miss Daisy’. We will be stopping at a lot of her grandkids and even great grandkids. The fifth generation is in the oven.

Sounds like you will probably be able to stay and have a lot of meals at her relative's places. Take the teardrop in case you want some private time. Isn't it set also set up for cooking? You'll save enough on diesel even if we don't run out to pay for lots of motels and restaurant meals.
I had an Aunt and Uncle who retired to Arizona and they would spend their Summer's traveling up North. They just had a small covered pickup for their belongings and had enough relatives and close friends to stay with that they very rarely had to stay at a motel. They would always spend several weeks at my mom's place as they were very close being the two youngest siblings from a large family. He was also a Jack of all Trades so he always helped her out with various repairs and projects around her house.

The towing capacity of the Subaru especially the tongue weight is okay for my teardrop and one or two people. With a third person in the rear seat there is too much weight in the back. Besides it wouldn’t be idea for Norma (mummy). I am looking at a smaller lighter trailer where a nap would be possible in it and it would make the inside of the Subaru less crowded.
Yes we could save a ton of money staying at her kinfolk.
Twenty one people in my contact list have one of three last names. Some of the names goes back 150 years. By doing things for mummy I get accepted instantly into the community. Besides she is just a fun person to be around.
