A stranger at the door

Mary was in the backyard, getting her son's dog to go for a ride to a place to walk. I happened to see the dog going nuts as she tried to restrain him. I looked at the front door and a fawn was standing there at the screen door as if it wanted to come in. I said hello and it darted off. I went outside to help restrain the English short haired pointer, who was beside himself. After he smelled the area, I put him in the car and they left.
It was unusual to see that deer at the door. You never know......

Must have seen the dog come and go in and thought it a safe place to go.

That fawn was probably wanting in to get away from the dog! :D
In any case, very interesting.

Ruby (my horse) would get a little upset when deer were in her pasture, probably just concerned about her goats. Pasture fences won't keep out a deer, I've seen them jump over a 5 foot fence without even needing a running start. Deer fences around orchards around here are at least 10 feet tall.

We have game cams scattered around for security purposes. The deer love the pecan orchard, and ghost thru the woods at the west fenceline to visit the pond. There are a couple does with twins every year that are cute as buttons and two massive bucks.
