Pipeline Rupture

Post by JEBar » Sat Sep 17, 2016 8:48 pm

a blown pipeline in Florida has affected fuel supplies well up into NC .... we are camped on I-95 near Smithfield, NC .... one of our club members drives a tanker for Raceway and has been put on alert to be on the road south early in the morning .... our group was able to fill our vehicles just prior to the price jumping .... we have heard that some chain stations in our area are now out of fuel .... hopefully they will get the pipeline repaired quickly

Virginia is supposed to be in the price-hike zone, but so far the prices were stable, today anyway.

while some stations still have fuel available for sale, many in our area are out .... the pumps at all of the Sheetz stations in our area that we have seen are out of service .... prices at stations still open are all over the board

There was one station up here that immediately raised the price to 4.99 and after getting called on the carpet for it said. "It was a misunderstanding".
Most stations I saw today were at $2:15 or close to it.
