This is what happens when you pop out for breakfast before combing your hair and tidying up.

and keep saying Henry to them!clovishound wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 7:20 pmThey are getting enough stuff on and around the log to leave the feeder alone right now. I hung the feeder from a tree branch on some wire, so it would be difficult for them to get to it. I know, they are clever and determined critters.

Re: Trying my hand at a bird feeder
I told the Pup this morning that I need to hang a Henry sign out on the log we put some seed on. She agreed and said I need to take a picture of the squirrels hanging around the sign and post it here.
Sounds great, only I don't actually have a Henry sign. Perhaps I could use the box one of my Henrys came in.

Put a little corn on top of your Henry box and the squirrels will be happy to pose.

This may be a scarecrow for the squirrels. The cardinals don't seem to mind, although appear somewhat curious.
Maybe she wants a Henry for herself.

Re: Trying my hand at a bird feeder
Well, the squirrels finally showed up.
And then he showed me what he thought of my Henry box. While I was trying to film, he shoved the box off the log.
Tried to get a picture of him in the act, but wasn't quick enough.

Getting a little better at the feeder pictures. I have a ways to go to get pictures I'm truly satisfied with. Still need to figure out something more aesthetically pleasing that this plastic feeder as a backdrop.

At first I thought it was a Hummingbird Moth, but upon looking it up I found it was a
Hummingbird Butterfly. It was fun to watch it fence with a real humming bird and a bee
that claimed the flowers as their own. The second picture is one I got online just to
show the butterfly better. The first one I took.

Re: Trying my hand at a bird feeder
Another new visitor.
Appears to be a red bellied woodpecker. Please correct me if I'm wrong on any identifications. I'm new to this. I have trouble telling a hawk from a handsaw, depending on the direction the wind is blowing.
