2022 Hurricanes and Tropical Storms

Post by JEBar » Sat Jul 02, 2022 8:52 pm

looks like the 2022 storm season is underway, "The National Hurricane Center issued tropical storm warnings for parts of the South Carolina and North Carolina coastlines during the early-morning hours on Saturday after a rapidly-developing low-pressure system along the Southeast coast of the United States strengthened into Tropical Storm Colin, the third named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season."

looks like beach erosion on the Carolina coast will be the order of the coming weekend

ZERO named Atlantic storms August 2022 .... that's the first time in 25 years none have formed in August .... here it is September 1st and Tropical Storm Danielle has formed about 950 miles west of the Azores .... the forecasters say it will not become a threat to anywhere in the US

Amazing how those predictions pan out. I know, it ain't over til it's over. Calm seas and following winds my friends.

after inflicting heavy damage to Puerto Rico, Fiona strengthened to a Category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 130 mph (215 k/mh) early Wednesday. The hurricane was about 675 miles (1,090 km) southwest of the territory and moving north at a speed of 8 mph .... its projected path tracks out in the ocean away from the US Coast ..... meteorologists are sounding the alarm for Atlantic Canada, which is expected to receive the full brunt of Hurricane Fiona’s impacts this weekend

Saw the NWS or Federal Travel or some other agency put out a travel restriction for Brumuda due to Fiona heading that direction. :(
