RIP to a Pioneer

Post by RanchRoper » Thu Jun 30, 2022 11:23 am

Roy produced and played on 2 albums I made back in 2008 and 2009. Played fiddle with the Sons of the Pioneers including the last show Roy Roger’s and Dale Evans played in the mid 90’s.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

He had a real dry sense of humour I liked. He was very serious when he was recording as we did my albums. Perfectionist. I made him laugh one time during a take and we had to start over. I hadn’t finished all the lyrics to a song I wrote called Ridin’ with my Saddle Pals. The final line was “ gallop o’er the prairie, hearts are feeling merry” but I sang gallop o’er the prairie, my horse is big and hairy….and he cracked up. I’ll miss him. He was an original.
