June 9th is the 50th anniversary of the 1972 Rapid City flood. 239 fatalities, I lost lost some classmates and close friends. It wiped out my folk’s business. My wife lost relatives and friends also. I was driving a 1947 Army surplus Willie’s Jeep, trying to drive my date home and trying to get my self home. Water was running through on the running boards(it had no doors). It’s been 50 years but I remember it vividly today.

Surviving a disaster gives meaning to your life. I'm sure it has paid off for those you love. Well done brother.
