Yes. At times, it may be better asking, what do you want to eat?

When I'm working on the better half's car, it's what do you want for lunch and dinner?

Doesn't anybody eat supper anymore......Here in the country we have breakfast-dinner(noon meal) and supper........Guess you city slickers call it different stuff.

My wife sees this I’m in deep poo!

My mom grew up on a N. Dakota farm in the early 1900's. Scandinavian mom and dad, I had thought she said they called noon meal supper and the evening meal dinner but I could have them switched around. She had 7 brothers and said she and her sister and mother spent most of the day cooking, said Breakfast and midday meals were huge, evening meal was light because you went to bed shortly after.
No tractors back then, hard physical labor for the boys and dad all day long. No High School for her brothers, not sure how long they were in school. She wanted High School so had to go live with an aunt in a town large enough to have a High School.

When I was growing up it was breakfast dinner supper. A snack at coffee break or snacks served at meetings and such was called lunch.

I spent one of my high school years living in rural NE North Dakota and this “city slicker” learned that the mid-day meal was called dinner and the last meal was called supper. It was a cultural learning experience that to this day I appreciate. One of the best years of my life.

Speaking of a reversal of roles many years ago when married to my first wife on Mother’s Day weekend I helped a friend move over a hundred miles. Needless to say I spent the night at his new place. We might have enjoyed an adult beverage or two after the chore of loading and unloading. Drove home the next morning and was pretty tired. My wife at the time decided to mow the lawn and a neighbor asked her why she was mowing the lawn on Mother’s Day. She replied, “the mother is inside asleep on the couch”. Probably one of the best lines she ever uttered.

Tina loves to be outside, spent years as a landscaper, and even earned a state certification after a college course. (Not a degree... A certification). She ran a landscaping crew for a major nursery in Virginia owned by the family of a politician. If I suggest I can cut the grass, trim hedges, plant a tree...

...she laughs and rolls her eyes. I can at least bush hog the lower pasture. You don't do it the way "I" like it. So, I work in the woodshop, build things, fix things... You know... Things "I" know how to do.

Lunch is usually 12-2 dinner is 5-8. I grew up with my mom calling it supper. I have always called it dinner.

I just called it, "Where's my Sammich!"

But... Not out loud where She could hear me, oh no, not out loud.

Under my breath, in the kitchen, while fixin dinner.

My marriage tip is, don't get married!! LOL

Same here Dahlia and I've lived all over the country, north to south and east to west. Born in Texas.

Living in Brooklyn N.Y.it was breakfast, lunch and dinner.
