the season jumps into full stride this weekend .... I was surprised that Tennessee had so much trouble with Appalachian .... several big games on tap for tonight .... to my surprise, UNC is up 10 on Georgia in the third quarter

USC is giving Alabama everything they can handle throught the first quarter. We will see if they can keep it up.

UNC penalties let Georgia back in the game and they took advantage of it ..... the SEC is pulling out some close opening season games

My alma mater Duquesne University doesn't have a football team. I've adopted the school from my masters program as UCLA has quite a team lately.

I'd love to see a turnaround season for the Longhorns. College football benefits from a strong Texas team.

last night, in the first half, the Seminoles didn't look like the powerhouse they have been in recent years ....until the final couple of minutes of that half Ole Miss looked sharp .... Seminole Football = needless penalties .... historically they have had the overwhelming talent required to overcome them .... those days have gone but the penalties remain

It didn't look like it was going to be a very good game until Florida State came back in the second half and looked like a different team. Actually, we are Miami Hurricane fans. Their program has suffered in the past few years and last time I looked they were ranked 26th in the coaches poll. My son did his graduate work there, back when Warren Sapp played for them.

yesterday, we watched some really good games .... Duke going into South Bend and topping the Irish has to be a major win for their program ..... UNC coming from behind and beating Pitt on the last play was a big win for them .... the Vols ending a long losing streak with the Gators may well save their coach's job ... yep, a most entertaining

I was very happy with UCLA's performance vs Standford until they gave up a game winning TD in the last 1:30! Heartbreaking, could have turned the season around.

UNC managed to beat Florida State with a last play 54 yard field goal .... one heck of a game .... Tennessee over Georgia came as a bit of a surprise .... Duke didn't look good .... Notre Dame seemed to get back on track
