Skidmore's leather cream

Got this for Leather motorcycle saddlebags that take quite a beating and for that it's great plus it's made in Montana (I like Montana) A little spendy but a dab goes a long ways so gonna try it on my 1911 holster. I wonder what Ranch Roper uses ,his fotos always have beautiful leather accessories

Up to now, I have always used Lexol. Nice to know about other choices though.
Oh...I also have used Apache Cream.

I use a combination of neatsfoot oil and inclement weather on most of my leather stuff. Although I use Ballistol on my mukluks too.


30+ years of hard use in this rig and neatsfoot oil is all it's ever seen. Likely outlast me.

Never heard of Skidmore"s leather cream until now. But, it's always good to have more choices. I used Neatsfoot oil on anything leather forever. I still have my old softball glove and it's just as pliable as when I played. I quit playing near the end of the '90's.

Be careful with putting leather softening products on holsters. It can affect the retention of some holsters. I even read about an incident where a leather holster developed a crease that actuated the trigger on a guy's carry gun when he sat down in his car.
