In the same vein...
Getting ready to leave for Oklahoma City Sunday morning, Miss T was going to look at a used Bernina machine. Had been loading the truck thru the garage. I pushed the button and the garage door behind the Frontier starts going down, we were driving the Titan. I head inside, lock the interior doors and go thru the living room and out the front door.
The Titan is parked in the driveway, Tina points at the garage and says, "I don't have a remote."
"That's why I closed it."
She points at the open garage door.
I unlock the front door, go back thru the house, open the interior garage door, push the button, door starts down... down... down. Six inches from closed, reverses, goes back to full open and stows. Miss T gives me the
I push the button, repeat of above. "Don't push it twice." From the truck.
Really? Did we just move in. In case the wall button is bad, I try the remote in the Frontier. Repeat of above.
Miss T gets out, to show me how to work a doorbell button.
Repeat of above, application of hormones hasn't repaired the problem. She tries it again, same result. We have been together thirty years, I'm suddenly mute. I'm not smiling.
She is hot.
"Guess I'm not going."
I tell her she's going, have her stand by the rear of the Frontier. I tell her when the door is fully down, yank the red lawnmower looking handle. "Okay." She looks skeptical, but yanks as instructed.
Door stays down, carrier runs back up, disconnected from the door, and stows. I put a pin thru the track so noone can lift the door. Off we go, only half hour late leaving.
Monday, run out to the overhead door company. He says the internal gears have lost teeth, the system can't track door position so gets petulant, and stows. The 25 year old opener is done. We were planning to replace both the slow, rattling, openers eventually anyway.
"How soon can you get out and do both?"
He looks at his watch... Two hours?
$1100 later we are golden. A deal in my book. The new ones are great.
