The Good 'Ol Days - An Interview with Dave Marcis

Post by Cowboy Gun Fan » Wed Sep 22, 2021 11:48 pm

This is an interesting interview. I learned to be a Dave Marcis fan back in the 90's. Interesting views on his opinion of today's racing as well. I also learned a few new things:

Wasn’t Dave good old number 77 sporting a head full of grey hair and running with the young guns like Dale Earnhardt back in the day? I always respected him and his longevity.

Edit, I just watched part of the video and I see (and remember now) he was number 71. Later I’ll watch the entire interview.

That was a great interview and thanks for sharing! If I remember ol Harry Gant had been a roofer before his big Nascar days really got going. and there was another that drove an oil truck...Benny Parsons maybe? Back in those times there weren't any 20 yr. olds racing in the top Nascar ranks. You had to earn your way up the ladder!

I believe the oil truck driver was Jimmy Hensley.

Benny Parsons once drove a cab.

Those old days were great. Almost like a whole different sport in comparison to now.

A good interview, thanks for sharing.
I agree with him about they have ruined the sport and like him I don't watch anymore.
