Tom T. Hall passed away Friday, he was 85. My favorites were I like beer, Old Dogs, Children and) Watermelon Wine and I Like; my grandchildren sing along to his songs on a cd!

Salute to a Switchblade...

The thing I always loved about this song was his editorial comments between the lines....

For example:

"A little bit closer and they'd been play'n me Taps."
(....and knowing the sad nature of that song, I would Dee-cline it.) :D

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

The Story Teller. Nobody could do it like Tom. Those folks with harps are gonna have some serious competition. His departure is a blow to humanity, but maybe he can fix things from up yonder. :)
