Rode to the coast for a visit yesterday and a friend brought his Ruger mini 30 over hoping I could fix it . The action was froze solid..Took me 3 hours to get it apart and clean it. One of the dirtiest firearms I've come across I've seen chimneys that were cleaner..he wants to sell it are they a good rifle?

I would have one but have too many other rifles.

Decent rifle, though I'm not fond of the caliber. If I have a .30 I'd prefer a .308 over 7.62x39. YMMV.

I had one for a while and it shot and functioned fine. But I dont think the accuracy was as good as it could be. But to its credit it would digest anything I fed it. I have a CZ 527 in 7.62X39 and a AR -15 in the same caliber. I traded the Mini-30 for the Windom AR-15 in the same caliber. I wanted the AR more.

If it's anything like the Mini-14 it's accuracy is suspect. Mine Mini-14 is a fun plinker, but it not a winner for accuracy. Kept reasonably clean it will function and shoot all day long without issue.
