This is for those of you that wanted to know more about the book that I used as a background for my Beretta pictures.

This copy of Leslie's Photographic Review of the Great War was published in 1920 and purchased by my Grandfather at that time. It is 285 pages fascinating history and a real tribute to the war photographers of the day.

The book must be a fascinating read. I love the old photo books from that time.
People really valued their books back then. I have seen many old books that either the owner inscribed their name or the person who gave them the book did.

Did your grandfather fight in WWI or was he just interested because it was such a historical event?

No, he didn't fight in the war. He lost a leg in a farming accident in 1912 so he didn't have a chance.

Those are very interesting, more of a WWII follower myself, but watch and have learned a lot on History and Military Channels
about both wars. ME TV used to air old Combat and 12 O Clock High shows and stopped about a year ago. Wife got hooked on them too !!
Wish they would bring them back.

My grandfather did not fight in WWI, but his brother did. My father-in-law was in the Pacific in WWII and then in Korea. My dad was in Korea. I have done some reading about all of those conflicts simply because of the connections. None of them talked much about it and now I wish I had asked more when they were alive. Not necessarily the ugly details, but just about where they were and so on.
