For those of you who remember, and supported my efforts. I want to thank you one last time!
It was two years ago today that I quit my 2+1/2 pack a day, terrible habit.
I will not report on this again because I know I have succeeded after this long.
Tonight will be a bit of a celebration!! :D 8-) I feel so much better!

Good for you. With the fires in BC I am the equivalent of 8 packs a day now.

Congratulations, 6 years for me. I still get the occasional urge but have not succumbed so far. I do have a occasional puff on my vape pen but very rarely anymore and with 0% nicotine and I don't inhale.

It's been twenty years for me now. It was tough, but I'm still free of it.
Celebrate, you've earned it.

Yes, congratulations! I am along with BigAl. It has been just over 30 years for me as well. I was at about a 1 1/2 packs per day. I was told that my lungs would recovery after about 7 years. Don't know how true that is. But, I still had cravings some 10 years later. I think the thing that helped me from starting back or trying something new was lack of funds. The money that I was spending on cigarettes, I put in some type of savings (retirement or emergency fund). Since I considered savings to be more important than smoking, I just continued to saving. I figured that I could survive from not smoking. But, I did not want to be in my upper years with my hand out. So, I just kept leaving smoking along.

The sad part, I only smoked for about 5-6 years. Yet, the efforts hung around for about 10 years. So, it can get its hooks in you. So, just be strong and keep pushing ahead.
