I never ship USPS anymore. They've lost too many expensive items that I've either purchased or shipped to customers. A couple of years ago they lost a client's very expensive clarinet and a few months earlier lost a jeweler's lathe I purchased.

Well sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and most likely depending on which areas it has to travel through as in what location cares about your package. I have a holster coming for my .45 Colt Bulldog that's supposed to be here Friday I hope.
At least they can't damage your gong if you get it!

Can't complain today as my holster showed up this morning a day earlier than quoted! Hope you get your gong Randy!

I had a package that said it was out for delivery but I did not get it. Next day I filed a form for a lost package. I was shocked when I got a notification the next day that they were checking and I received it the following day. I wouldn't expect that to happen again.

Maybe we could start a petition to bring back the pony express!
USPS is pretty good in my neck of the woods.... But, my son who lives 15 miles away is always about ready to pull his hair out each time he orders something and the vendor sends it USPS. His biggest gripe is that the tracking will say that his package arrived.... That just means that it arrived at the post office in his city.... It could be another 5-7 days before he sees it.

Sounds like we've all got our USPS horror stories. I keep hoping for better, but their track record just ain't in you favor.

 totally unexpected it arrived today, even after the last update said it arrived this am in Memphis. Good thing there weren't any small parts.

Glad you got it Randy. Seems strange that anything heavy going through Memphis is delayed and damaged.

Yeah, it does. A few weeks ago I ordered some bullets for the 38-55, I ordered 300, if I had ordered 900 I could've got free shipping.
But knowing up front he was sending them through the usps, I chose not to, and those came without a hitch.

We have a good relationship with our new, REGULAR, carrier. Didn't start that way. Miss T had to go down and talk with the postmaster first week. I went out and talked with the carrier the next time I saw her. She had been caught in the middle.

After that, no issues. Our problems with USPS are just like the OP. Their automated equipment that routes mail and packages must be lubed with Gin. Mail a package from the midwest to Florida, they route it through AZ. I sent a priority package to S. Florida from Central OK last December. It took a trip north thru Chicago, then delayed by their blizzard. :o
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.
