I did that drill today while getting my pair of those black plastic fold up saw horses that were sitting next to the wall. Everything looked clear of any wasp so I grabbed one and immediately saw a clump of wasp drop down from under the beam part you normally grab
Threw that sawhorse out into the yard area and sprayed the 6 or 8 wasp still dazed on the gravel floor. Went over to it and flipped it over and there was a large nest they built up in the bottom side of the beam just where you might grab it! Luckily this time I had grabbed it near the end. Man that was a close one!
Little sneaky things they are and I for certain didn't need a hand of fire just before I setup to shoot! I keep a spray can of brake cleaner just inside the door on the shelf that is easy to get to for those things. Knocks them right down better that the watered down wasp spray they now sell.
