Right anterior Total Hip

Well here we go again…
On the 14th I had right total hip replacement. My prep included making sure I took my daughter to the range (alternate post) since I knew it would be a while before I got back.
Maybe my expectations are not realistic, but I based them on the information that the hip would be much easier than my Rotator Cuff surgery. My surgery wasn’t out patient, but I only had one night stay in the hospital.
I know there are a few out there who have been through this before, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

Well wishes and heal fast. I'll double down on the pt being important. It's necessary evil that will get you back on track.

Had it four and half years ago...all great now...no real trouble.. just realize they cut way into you, hacked a big bone socket out and crammed a big piece of metal and stuff into your leg....amazingly it will be fine...however, it takes avlittle time for your body to totally heal from such a whack.... take your time and do what they say is ok...in a couple of months you will be going pretty normally... im sure everyone is different but it took a couple of years before I got to where I hardly e ver even think about it...not like it was bad before that. Just you would be aware of it, especially if you did too much on it.... now I seldom even give it a thought...so much better than the limping about and the pain I had before with my bad hip....the first few weeks are the slowest as your body is healing up from being chopped up....cut it some slack and pace yourself and it will be better every day. Mine is great.

Good wishes for you, patience and do the PT and all will be alright. Didn’t have hip replacement but had both knees replaced and PT was the key to rehab.

Thanks all. Just over 2 weeks in and they tell me I am doing well. I’m getting PT 3X per week and moving mostly with a cane, although for neighborhood walks, I’m resorting to crutches.
I am very impatient for the healing and especially looking forward to being able to sleep through the night without being awakened by pain.
