Not like I haven't been here before... I have had a lot of surgery. But this time I'm doubling up. First session at 10am is wrist, for the surgery for the break, then right into 11am knee/leg to tune up that knee replacement/ shattered femur repair.

Making progress, but PT has always sounded like this to me...

"Does this hurt?"
No


"How bout when I do this?
No


" How bout now? "
No, I'm good.


"If I do this?"
Oh my God, that's agony.

after graduating from college, I was offered an opportunity to attend the Duke University School of Physical Therapy .... prior to that time I'd only had physical therapy once .... that was for shoulder surgery for chronic dislocations .... unknown to anyone, the surgeon botched the surgery .... the therapist was determined to get my shoulder to operate as it should, with the botched surgery that wasn't ever gonna happen .... lets just say it wasn't a positive experience .... I turned Duke down because I couldn't see putting anyone else through what I'd suffered .... decades later, forced by more surgery to undergo physical therapy, I came to realize how valuable it can be .... as you already know from your experience, hang in there and give it your best

I went to Mayo Clinic this spring for lumbar stenosis. Before doing another surgery they wanted me to have P.T., which I did. It was successful and I believe it prevented surgery.
My therapist spent 3 weeks getting my core built up and then started traction and the 3rd treatment was like magic. I was able stand up straight with reduced pain. When my prescription ran out I went downhill within two weeks so I bought a used P.T. traction table and set it up in my home. Now with my wife's help I can stretch out every other day and feel much better.

Oh, I love the results, and I give them 100%. But some of them (the best) seem to enjoy the look of agony on the faces of their patients. (Victims.) I had a back injury incurred while preventing a huge mental patient from running into traffic and killing himself until backup arrived. The staff from mental health stood by and watched.

The therapist that took me thru my back recovery could have been a swimsuit model. She also was evil... I had tears in my eyes at the end of each session. But, she massaged my lower back when all the work ended, and I would fall asleep.

I separated my right shoulder a few years back. The Docs said I should just have the surgery and get it over with.
I said I wanted to try therapy first. Good choice! My therapist was a very pretty young lady. I mean really good looking.
Not only that she was very very good at her job. I was sorry when the therapy ended.

I may hurt myself again just to see her.

Had 2 full knee replacements, a lot of therapy
Afterward, when I was younger I separated my shoulder and then a few years later and then separated it again. Several years later I dislocated that shoulder. I’m supposed to have surgery’s on that shoulder and more therapy

Boot camp sucked, but I graduated with my original platoon. We started with the usual 72, graduated 50 some. Less than 35 were original.
