Wish I'd had a CB radio

Post by Oldbrass » Sat Jun 12, 2021 12:15 pm

Coming home from work yesterday on the short stretch of I-5 from JBLM to Lacey I passed a flatbed semi with some about 6X6 foot long wood blocks close to edge of the deck. I saw he had CB antenna, tried to get his attention but traffic was heavy.. I did call the state patrol and Sorry I had to do that but maybe saved someone's life.. I used the CB often in my 18 wheeler days, maybe I'll put one in the F150 just for the neck of it.

CB's are also the best radar detectors. You don't have to talk. You can just listen and hear where all the cops are taking radar long before you get there.
You can just ask though, " how's it looking behind you" and usually you will get a detailed Bear, ( Highway Patrol ) report.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Yep my UHF is constantly on scan, can be quite entertaining listening at times. Some of the conversations driving through rural areas can be hilarious.

Me, back in the day: "There's two Smokeys sitting by the Cabin John Bridge."
Voice on the CB: "Those aren't Smokeys, they're County Mounties -- I know, because I'm one of them."
