Grandsons first time shooting. Brought the 10-22 and he really enjoyed it. He did very well following the safety rules as well. I'm very proud of him. He fired 200 rounds..

Great of you to take him the first time. I wish my dad would have even had an interest

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Bravo, well done!
That Leopold scope looks great on the 10/22, nice size for it. Looks like he’s locked in to the stock as well as possible considering his size.

Re: 8 year old grandson first time shooting
It is great to see a new young shooter. Did you have any trouble with him rushing the shots? A semi-auto can be a huge problem for a youngster who wants to just spray lead like Rambo. I saw a young man at a range who was getting super hyped up and excited and would not take his time, and his clueless father did not try to slow him down. It became dangerous and after some stern words the range officer escorted them both away from the facility.
I love your Magpul Backpacker stock, I have one just like it. But it is a big one for a 10/22, too massive for the little guy. At the very least install the low cheek riser so he can rotate his torso and get his head further forward, to get a full sight pucture.….

He did real well John, I started him on gun safety with a daisy bb gun. The 10-22 is my smallest rifle with the back-packer compact stock. He really likes the Golden boy (grandpas cowboy gun) but needs to grow a bit ..
