March 29 was chosen as National Vietnam War Veterans Day because on March 29, 1973, Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (MACV) was disbanded and the last U.S. combat troops departed the Republic of Vietnam. The last unit was elements of MACV's Infantry Security Force (Special Guard), actually special couriers.

I was an early member of MACV.

If you are or know a Vietnam Marine vet I'd really like them to have this. I bought it about 25 years ago with intention of using for a camp knife but I was afraid I'd get my butt kicked by some old Jarhead. So put it in the safe.. Seriously it needs a deserving home. Great idea, Oldbrass. I'm Retired Army also, so it won't fit me, but we have a few Jarheads on here that would deserve & love to have it.

48 years huh. Seems like it was just yesterday.

Always felt like the Vietnam Vets never got the respect they deserved. Welcome home to all of you and many thanks from a free American for your service
